Westwood Gardens

Went here and got all the things we needed for a cute little Halloween and / or fall display. We got pumpkins and gourds and a little hay bale and some mums. Very large area in a walk around and I wish I could have walked all of it but we were on a time schedule this day. Very nice people at the checkout and there was a lady outside always with us that we could ask questions

They have very nice plants and a much wider variety than the norm. Their prices tend to be 30% to 40% higher than discount stores, but with the quality and diversity of offerings you can typically find what you need and it hasn't been under or over watered. They sell beautiful containers in a variety of size, colors and materials. The greenhouse itself is beautiful and a joy to stroll around in as you imagine the possibilities. Recommend! *Unfortunately, they no longer have the ability to contact their other locations to check for inventory as of 5/2022.

Love this local garden center! This location is fairly large and has just about anything you’re looking for. I recently went last week to purchase mum’s & pumpkins and they have A TON of stock. In addition to the fall favorites, I picked up a few succulents and indoor house plants. They have pots, other plant necessities, & Knick knacks inside by the checkouts. Prices are justified for these healthy plants - so much bigger and better shapes than box retailers.

I have been a fan of westwood since I started collecting plants but this season they seem to be struggling with keeping a steady staff. Last week i was browsing and came across a giant palm priced at over $200 that was dying. it had pest damage evidence and mealie bugs the size of dimes, mealies don’t typically get that big unless they’re left alone. this plant despite showing signs of distress was on the floor surrounded by other plants so i avoided purchasing from that area and instead opted out to buy two hoyas that were a good 20 feet away from the palm just to find mealie bugs on them as well a few days after purchase. i called and was told their return policy is return within 48 hours with a receipt but the mealies didn't come out until about a week after purchase. unfortunately i could not find my receipt so im unable to return but i am very disappointed, the quality of the plants has declined severely, it was very difficult to find a healthy looking plant with minimal damage, it seems that the workers there have have too much on their plate and aren’t able to keep up with volume and pest care. unfortunately ill be opting out for plants this spring but they do still have a great pot section. I hope things improve from here, if you’re purchasing plants from here this season inspect them as closely as possible!!

Not a good nursery. The person who "helped" me was knowledgable on plants, but not customer service. When I stated I was looking for a native flower to the area, he responded with "I dont know native plants. So what are you looking for?" I said I dont care about what care it requires, Ill meet the plants needs, I just want something native, he said "I dont know native plants." So I googled a list for him and got through the whole list before he finally responded that he recognized some plants. It was a very odd interaction. I purchased some herbs too, and as a new herb caregiver I should have recognized the root rot on the oregano. These plants have not been cared for and let over grow in the tiny pots. Between the root rot and stink bug eggs if the oregano does not survive my attempts to cure the root rot I will not be going back to this store for another.

Terrible return policy only 48 hours even the goods are unopened and are not perishable. Purchased excess soil and vermiculite. They will only give you store credit, even though my return was within three days. Poor selection of vegetable garden plants.

Westwood gardens is a a very frustrating experience at best. They have lots of nice stuff to buy but, the help is new and those that aren’t are few and far between; barely keeping it all afloat. Every reasonable question is met with starry doe eyes. It seems to need a leader but is getting by without one so customer service is not important. Staffing with bodies alone is not a good business model. People are spending good money for the expertise and high quality plants. This is suppose to be what you get that is different from the “Big Box” stores. It truly makes one question the decision to shop here.

This has got to be the best plant nursery I've seen in this area! Loved the selection ?
