So...I needed to replace a rose bush I managed to kill ? and it would seem that Home Depot, Lowe's, and some nurseries don't have any roses in stock currently. I guess this isn't rose planting season... But I wanted to replace my missing rose and hopefully redeem myself this time around and ensure its survival!

I had driven past the Wear Valley Nursery before and remembered it was adjacent to the firehouse. Found them online and saw they had good reviews and great hours too!

So today, Saturday morning, I headed over to them and they had a lot of roses and a wonderful variety of colors. All of them were at least medium-sized (a plus if you're not a seasoned rose whisperer I think!) & looked very healthy and strong. Two prices, depending on the brand, $29 or a bit more at about $38 (Weeks Roses)

Tony helped me find the colors I wanted and I chose a dual- colored one with pinkish yellow and cream... lovely! He was patient and knowledgeable and didn't try to upsell or hurry me at all.
Great experience and love that it's a local business!
Parking onsite, about six spots, and additional, metered parking right in front on Ventura. Open 7 days.

Highly recommend this nursery. Staffs are friendly, knowledgable, and helpful. I always visit this nursery for plants and flowers and pots. Great and healthy selections for both indoor and outdoor plants with reasonable price!

Huge variety of plants and very friendly employees. I was browsing with nothing particular in mind but I imagine they have most everything you might be looking for, indoor or outdoor. They had a Mimosa pudica, "sensitive plant" which has leave that fold up when you touch them, very neat!

I ended up buying a really lovely maidenhair fern. It looks a bit droopy here because I was carrying it around in the sun.

I have been here twice in the past year, while visiting from out of town, and have had a greast experience both times! I moat recently went the weekens of June 10th, 2022. As others have mentioned, there is a wide variety of all kinds of plant species, and an abundant selection. I am really into house plants and have been able to pick up the often hard to find Alocasia dragon ?, lithops, chain of hearts, and pilea pepermiodes!! There are plenty of the more common house plants too such as a variety of snake plants, golden pothos, spider plants, wandering dude in multiple colors, and Chinese evergreens. They have Monstera deliciosas. I also saw a snow queen pothos, neon pothos, and maybe two other pothos varieties in addition to all of those!
Don't mind my dog in the photo, he wandered in right as I was taking it ?.

My cousin kept telling me to go to this nursery but it took me a few years. Now I'm sorry for not going sooner. They have a little bit of everything! Bonsai pots, fountains, stone planters, gardening tools ? a particular weakness of mine and tons of succulents. I didn't have time to check out the other plants but if you love succulents, you should definitely see the ones here. The succulent prices are very reasonable... the 2" pots start at 2.50. The employees are knowledgeable and helpful but let you walk around in peace. Will definitely go back soon!
