Wonderful and very knowledgeable man, Mike Branning, is very helpful. He trimmed a tree for us recently. He and his team have done yard work for us several times and does a great job. He has desert water wise plants that he sells at reasonable prices. He can help you with plant problems. He has a radio show on Saturday mornings. At Z107.7 and answers gardening questions. Sometimes he is hard to get a hold of, but leave a message and he will call you back. Good guy.

Mike is the best! He knows the high desert like the back of his hand and will recommend plants that are ideal for your location. "Oh, you live in Flamingo Heights? I would stay away from that plant since it gets a little colder there in the winter at night." "You live out in 29 Palms, I would recommend this plant, since it can handle the heat better". We hired Mike after getting an amazing referral from another trusted contractor. Mike is old school: no cell phone and does all of his landscape drawings by hand. His love of nature, the area, and for music meant he quickly became a friend. He’s so knowledgeable about the Mojave Desert plant and animal life. He helped us see our land in new ways and did work well beyond just landscaping. He and his crew put in railroad tie retaining walls, boulders and flagstone walkways. His old school style may not be for everyone, but it worked for us. We wanted to work with the most most knowledgeable landscaper and that’s exactly who we found.

Mike is so informative of the desert and native plants and their needs. He carries an amazing amount of drought tolerant plants as well as natives. I have admired his expertise since I moved to this area in 96. What they sell at the local "box stores" are not adaptable in our area for the most part and all tend to die or not perform well. Mike is the speaker at the upcoming Flamingo Heights potluck on Tuesday, May 19 it starts at 6pm if you would like to hear his presentation. If anyone is interested in native or drought plants for their gardens I totally recommend Mike at Unique Garden. He has a huge supply of plants and trees. He also has a weekly show on Z107.7 fm every Saturday starting at 8:30 am and takes calls and gives advice to listeners.

They have reasonable prices. They went over and above on their customer service. I left a message that I was needing a certain tree for my grandson's school science project. They put one aside for me, without my asking, so it would be there when we came in the morning! The rest were sold before we got there. I was so impressed and thankful!!

Great prices. Mike is full of knowledge and hands on experience. I love the selection of plants here and love that the plants are acclimated so when you bring them home and plant them they dont burn off or die like greenhouse plants from home depot

Unique owner Mike has to be one of the most decent, old school sincere gents in the High Desert.

Notwithstanding reasonable pricing, Mike's knowledge of permaculture, bee or butterfly friendly plants, as well as drought tolerant trees is extensive.

From theory to practice, nearly everything I've purchased from Unique has thrived: Palo Verdes and Desert Willows, from Aleppo and Elderica pines, Spanish Broom to Blue sage.

Mike's son Nicky also delivers larger trees, so it's a closed loop.

Closing out, hours can be a bit hit 'n miss at Unique; but honestly, your patience will pay dividends.

Mike knows more than anyone in the area about local landscaping and what is possible here in the high desert. He is an incredible wealth of knowledge. You wont get this same expert advice at home depot !
