I hired Bruce mainly based on the reviews on Houzz, I can’t express how much I regret not looking at the reviews on the other sites out there like Google and Yelp which gave far more accurate accounts of the horror I experienced with this company. While Bruce presented himself as experienced and professional showing all sorts of pictures of jobs he had completed, we started our job with him in January and it is now October and our project was never completed and the remained at this point is a write off for us as he has collected the bulk of the money. The work that was done was shoddy and sloppy, in most cases took at least three times being re-done and the chipped tiles and sand paper like pool surface will never be completely done correctly. Bruce showed zero accountability throughout the project pointing fingers of his overwhelmed and under trained and under supervised staff who were set up by Bruce to fail. We spent close to a quarter of a million dollars on our project, and can’t feel more violated and cheated. We haven’t heard from Bruce for almost two months at this point and we got tired of chasing him down and hearing his lies as he went on his transatlantic trips, vacations at his summer home, and just about any excuse you can think of. We know our experience isn’t a one off as we have read similar horror stories unfortunately far too late to avoid this painful and expensive experience. I would avoid Bruce and his company at all costs. If you don’t, it will be the biggest mistake you can make.

Wonderful experience....Bruce & his team did an outstanding job with landscaping and designing my back yard after a pool & deck update. Bruce was always available to handle anything that was needed and made sure we were happy. He also gave us good suggestions and replanted what we could save. I would highly recommend his services.

Unfortunately, Bruce Tucker was referred to me.by a friend. Long story short it was a nightmare. I paid him over 100k and had to fire him and find new companies to finish the job. During the job, multiple subcontractors expressed how Bruce owed them over 10k-20k for jobs completed. Just be aware because Bruce is going to show you pictures and tell you about all jobs he does in as he say “ High End “communities such as “Lost Tree”. Interestingly enough, I confirmed he is not an approved vendor of Lost Tree. Bottom line just read my review and contact me if you have questions. I will make myself available so no one else goes through my experience

In short:

I hired Bruce / Tucker Design Build for uplighting in my backyard. A few of the lights, primarily one in a fountain has been out for 7 (seven) months. After patiently asking for him to please assist in replacing them (as they are under warranty) I've had to hire and pay my own electrician to look over his work. Bruce assured me he'd make it out several times and never did, then finally showed up, only to send me back to the end of the list of people he needs to repair projects on.

What I realized throughout this entire experience is this: The degree to which you will be serviced is based on two primary factors. The first being the size of your project, and the second being the possibility for future business. There is an additional variable, which is the length of time since your work was 'completed' that can also affect the outcome. For the sake of simplicity we'll identify the first two which are a bit more relevant. Please refer to the associated graph below.

As you can see, your odds of service are best when you arrive at the 6 figure mark, WITH the possibility of future business. Otherwise, you will more than likely join the list of "50 people calling (me)" (in Bruces own words), upset that your hard earned money is now at the bottom of your landscapers concerns.

We have worked with over 15 different companies on various projects pertaining to interior and exterior upgrades. Tucker Design takes the cake as the least receptive. Our project was also < $10k...placing us at the bottom of the x, y coordinates. Not good enough. Ultimately, I ended up paying my electrician to source the bulbs Bruce refused to provide me information on, as well as for his time in assessing if there was another underlying issue. What you should keep in mind is...if this man / company can't reliably replace a few lights, what level of confidence does that give you on him developing your dream project? Cheers fellow humans.

We recently moved into Broken Sound in Boca Raton and immediately asked friends and friends of friends for recommendations on a pool architect. Tucker Design came up several times so we called them to discuss. From day 1 it was apparent that Bruce Tucker truly had the passion and love for his job that we knew was the ingredient for a good working relationship. It turned out to be the right choice because we love what he and his team created for us. Bruce is a straight shooter who won’t be the least expensive pool architect but he will be the best
