This was my second time using Tommy Todd Landscaping. The first experience was great, plenty of follow up and no real issues. However, the second time I am not satisfied. You be the judge, am I justified in my dissatisfaction or am I being unreasonable as Mr. Todd seems to be suggesting. Between the two separate jobs, I have spent well into 5 figures. I have never had any follow up the second time even when I just said forget about everything except a replacement azalea. It has now been over 4 months since the job was completed and unfortunately, I am probably going to have to hire a different company to replace the sod in a portion of the front yard. It is obvious now that the some of the sod was either diseased or of a different variety.

On September 9 I texted the following to the project manager
Hi Justin. Should I still be watering every day? Some of the travertine is moving when I walk on it. Also, I mentioned to one of the guys that there is one spot by the back gate where the sprinkler doesn't reach.

He replied
Can you send me a picture of that area?

I sent a picture showing the uneven travertine
No response

Next day I sent this
I got this on my front door (notice from city of water meter inaccessible). The water meter is covered with sod. Short of digging up my front yard, how can we locate the meter? Plus, this is costing me $53 for a re-inspection.
They did come out and uncover the meter but that was the only issue addresses so on Oct 2 I sent just to owner since I received no follow up to my prior texts:

Good morning, Tommy. I have a few unresolved issues and I am hoping you could come by sometime to take a look. I have been in contact with Justin and he partially took care of one issue. When the sod was put down they covered the water meter. He did get someone out to uncover the meter but it doesn't look very professional. Also I told him I was fined $53 which I paid. The other two items were ignored. The travertine that was put down is loose and uneven. He asked me to send pictures which I did and he never responded. The third issue is sprinkler coverage which was not addressed either. After spending over $xx,xxx for two jobs I would expect better follow through.

Owner replied same day:
Ron
I will deal with this and get your concerns rectified. Unfortunately my home was totally destroyed on the first floor with this Hurricane and we lost almost everything.
I am taking a break from the recovery and will be in my office today and discuss your issues.
Sorry for the lack of communication but Justin and my son Michael are the only ones in the office running the business.
I replied:
I'm sorry about your home. Of course that comes first for you.

I sent on Oct 15 to owner and project manager:
Here are some more concerns I have. Half dead azalea (I included picture). It is hard to see in a picture but some of the sod looks different from the rest.

No follow up since Oct 2 so on Oct 23 (3 weeks elapsed) I sent this:
I am guessing your lack of any response to my concerns/texts means you don't care about the customer once you are paid.

Owner immediately replied with this:
That is BS!
My house was destroyed and not habitable from Hurricane Helene!
I don't appreciate your attitude in this trying time! I will check out your lawn when I come up for air.
Our office also suffered roof damage on our warehouse and office building.

I replied::
I am very sorry about your house as I previously stated. Can you not understand my frustration too? All I wanted to know is at some point my concerns will be addressed. If they are not valid once they have been looked at, I can accept that.

I'm afraid this business relationship has become adversarial so let's just call it over. The only thing I ask is if someone from your crew could drop off a replacement azalea (never happened)
Nothing good is going to come out of this with your anger towards me.

There has been no further communication from the company.

We are so glad to have found such a fantastic Landscape Service with the Tommy Todd organization.
The landscape design by Michael is just what we wanted, plenty of color and flowers.
The maturity of the plants was above average, they look like they have been in the ground for some time. We didn’t have to wait to see what they would eventually look like.
The installation crew was fantastic, Alvaro and his guys are top notch.
The maintenance crew with Shane are taking care of my yard as if it was their own.
Tracy is always there if we need anything and follows up as if it were her own business,

I am so happy with my new backyard designed by Tommy Todd Landscaping. The entire process was wonderful. I loved the design by Justin and he helped coordinate between the pool and lighting contractors so it was efficiently implemented. The entire crew were professional and hard working, from the initial demo, hard scape, landscape, fence. Greg, who oversaw the job was always pleasant and helpful whenever I had questions and he resolved issues often before I even noticed. I cannot say enough good things about the company and crew and would not hesitate to recommend their work.

We can't say enough great things about the excellent work Tommy Todd Landscape & Design performed at our house. They have completed two projects for us; one was removing our old concrete driveway so they could redo our driveway with pavers and the other was installing new pavers for a backyard patio.

Two key things about their work:
1) Impeccable Attention to Detail (the Craftsmanship): They take pride in their work and make sure everything looks right; from the cut pieces around a column, to sloping the patio to the correct side, the list goes on and on. No corners were cut when it came to getting the work done, Tony and his crew took the time to make it look right the first time, true perfectionists.
2) Customer Service: Knowledgeable, courteous, reliable, great to work with and always on time. Justin walked us through different options for the scope of work, gave pros & cons to recommendations which ultimately helped us make the right decisions. This included bringing by several sample pavers to choose from, plus talking through the layout and design of the pavers.

We asked Tommy Todd L & D to totally redesign the landscaping on our property. This involved front and back yards, garden areas, and areas around the driveway. We enjoyed working with Tommy on the initial walkthrough and when he would come by and check in on the work progress. Justin's design ideas were great, and he was very pleasant and easy to work with. Their installation crew members were friendly, efficient, hardworking, and thorough! Alvaro, Martin, David, and the rest of the crew paid attention to detail and worked hard to see that the job was done right. (I wish I knew the names of all of the crew members because they were ALL great!). Greg, the Operations Supervisor, was great to work with and very efficient in communicating our questions and requests to the crews. Quinn, the "irrigation guy" knows his stuff and is easy to work with too. This is a top notch organization, not just in landscape design and installation, but in customer service and satisfaction! We highly recommend Tommy Todd L & D!!

The entire team at Tommy Todd is very professional and responsive. If there is an issue, they fix it immediately. Robert who manages the crew for our yard maintenance is fabulous. They also have been terrific maintaining our sprinkler system and responding ASAP when our sprinkler pump died. They replaced first thing Monday morning and did a terrific job. We LOVE Tommy Todd team
