What a hidden gem… my girlfriend and I stopped in on our way to the Santa Monica Farmer’s Market and Laria greeted us right away and was so fun to talk to. Their setup is beautiful in a concise space. And check out these turf animals. ? so fun. Absolutely worth making a destination if you’re looking to explore plant shops/garden centers around LA. I haven’t seen the other locations yet since we are new to CA, but I would imagine they’re even larger and executed equally well. 11/10 would recommend.

The McDonald’s of landscape design. It’s been a pretty rough experience. We started back in December and worked with a lead designer. He ended up having sickness and delays and excuses. Two months went by and I called the main line. We were assigned a new designer who came out and was very nice.

You meet with someone smart who has a nice design, but then that person never comes back again, not even on or after installation day. Obviously that will create issues.

Our primary and most expensive plant was wrong. They kindly replaced it after I had to take several photos instead of them just coming out and saving me the time of having to do additional legwork to prove to them it was wrong. Additionally, a few of the plants died and I’m not sure if it’s because of the plant or because the drip system we paid for was done incorrectly. I asked them to test that after two months of trying to reach them getting this set up they finally schedule the time to come. I left work early that day to be here inside their window and they ended up coming early. The crew, again, not with the designer, had no idea what to do. They were planting in the wrong garden and just made a bigger mess of everything.

Additionally, they did not check the drip system that I had asked repeatedly and had been told repeatedly that they would do. I reached out to our designer I sent emails to the company asked to talk to the owner who would listen and it’s just a ghost town.

I realize at $6K we’re likely not their biggest project by far, but it’s still a good chunk of money for us and their processes clearly aren’t designed for an excellent result.

I had a fantastic experience here! There's a surprising variety of plants tucked away in this little property, and the young woman who was working there (Sophie) gave me an enthusiastic tour of the place. She picked out a Southern Magnolia for me based on what I was looking for, and gave me some care instructions which have been working out so far. It doesn't hurt that my dog loves the place (and the employees!) I'll definitely be back!

Gary Grigorwan at Palisades location is the best ever! Thoughtful about plant selections and helped my 4 year old with all his gardening ambitions, including planting an avocado tree! Such a gem and truly made plant shopping so much more!

The ceramics here are gorgeous! I wanted to make a succulent bowl, but didn’t know where to start. Paul at the Standard Design Group built it for me at the store. It was an incredible service that is not usually provided at your local nursery. I give them a big thumbs up.
