Bummer…

I’m a working class citizen with many competing priories including simple survival. It took me a couple of days to respond back via email to ensure I could actually afford consultation/conference in December. I then had to make sure I could take the time from my schedule at work and then what… Nothing… I get ghosted?

Listen, maybe you don’t care and you don’t have to but I’m bummed because I really thought you were the real deal. I’ve supported many of your thoughts you’ve shared on your sign throughout the years of me bobbing in and out of my hometown.

Four stars because I love the sign.

The messages on your sign are downright ridiculous! It seems as if you sir have so much trauma that you are projecting onto anyone who passes by your stupid sign! Get a life and a heart!

I’ve had no dealings w/ Mr. Sweere, personally. He’s currently representing my ex-husband, who is seeking to “modify” (end) my court-ordered marital ‘maintenance’ (aka alimony.) I simply cannot afford an attorney at this point, thus I have to pro se the matter - and I’m doing a lousy job of it so far. The law is so convoluted that I don’t know how an average person can possibly navigate it successfully on their own.

Mr. Sweere certainly seems to be on top of everything. I was shocked by what was in the original filing - including reference to an extremely painful experience which made NO APPEARANCE in our divorce trial of 2015. That event occurred fully 8 years prior to dissolution of the marriage (2016.) Not one syllable about it is in the trial transcript. My ex could certainly have brought it up at the divorce trial, but he didn’t. Yet here it is in this 2022 “Motion to Modify.” It seems that my ex is still fixated all these years later. He informed Mr. Sweere obviously, and they decided it has a place in this action. It’s one of those those nuggets slipped in front of a judge designed ONLY to smear the opposing party & (hopefully) prejudice the court. I can only count on the judge’s professionalism assigned to this case. Surely he/she has dealt with this ugly little tactic in their time on the bench and dealt with it appropriately. My fingers are crossed.

I see a LOT of content in reviews about Mr. Sweere’s business sign fronting National Ave. Mostly negative, a few positive. It’s his sign on his property - he can post sociopolitical commentary if he so chooses. I haven’t resided in Springfield since my divorce, so I haven’t personally seen what he puts on the sign. I will say, however, that from what I have learned I am definitely more in line with his views than not! It’s too bad I’m someone he’s been hired to go after. There are reasons I was awarded ‘alimony’ in the first place. Those reasons remain. The irony that I can’t afford to hire an attorney, but my ex is now saying he can’t afford to continue paying ‘alimony’ . . . while being able to afford an aggressive attorney isn’t lost on me - or, I’m sure - Mr. Sweere. Knowing my ex as I do for over 25 years, of the three of us - he’s the one who doesn’t ‘get it.’

I have found an attorney who has asked for a very reasonable retainer with monthly payments after until the final sum is satisfied, but even that is out of reach. I barely scrape by as it is - and sometimes don’t.

The bottom line is that Mr. Sweere certainly seems to be doing a great job for my ex-husband so far! It’s ridiculous that Mr. Sweere’s political views should affect HIS effectiveness as an attorney and that those seeing his sign would automatically discount him b/c of it or feel a need to attack him personally in forums such as this one. But we’re living in extremely polarized times, aren’t we? “Divided we fall”, remember. I know it all too well.

God help anyone dumb enough to let this lunatic handle their legal affairs. His main focus is posting anti-American leftist propaganda lies on his beat up little sign in front of his ‘office’. The same day a horrific tragedy occurs where 10 people are killed, he gleefully uses the tragedy to egregiously slander a public figure I guess he doesn’t like. What a lying clown this guy is. I’ve been laughing at his garbage for years when I pass by, but this one went too far. Only someone without a soul would exploit the deaths of innocent people to make a political point. What a sleazeball. I figured the public should know before he extorts a retainer from you.

Bob has been my attorney for more than 30 years. He handled my divorce and has been there with several other litigations.

Bob has always been straight forward, honest and has kept his clients interests at the front. If he were not professional, honest and pleasantly successful, I would have changed attorneys long ago.

Never answers the phone. Doesn't call you back because apparently he doesn't know how to check his voice mail.. Really regretting our decision to use him. I should have shopped around more. I'll know better next time I guess.

Very arrogant, irrational, and not too bright (if you don't believe me, read the ignorant stuff he puts on the sign outside his office). Not very skilled in the courtroom. He's the kind of guy you would want as the opposing counsel- not as your own attorney.

This attorney is a joke. He thinks he can charge $100.00 for an initial consulation for a ch 7. Every other Attorney in Springfield offers a free 30 min bankruptcy consulation but he has the nerve to think is so great that people will pay for his consulation. Only stupid people (or people that want to throw away) would ever considering going to such an arrogant person.
