I love Payson market bakery, these are honestly the best donuts in Utah County!… i’m only giving three stars to Payson market for now because When I walk in, I am having to wait for others to grab their donuts, which can take a very long time. In the morning, I’m in a hurry to get to work and I would love to be able to grab my two donuts and be on my way but there is always a family with kids or people waiting in line for others to get through. Would Payson Market ever consider putting in a drive-through for their bakery? I’m in a hurry each morning because I have to get to work, It would be so great to just pull up, order my donuts and pay and then drive away and get to work on time….or if a drive-through is not possible, maybe just an extra person at the bakery counter to be available anytime their are people waiting on others who could say, “ who’s in line just for one or two donuts?” and then ask the customer what kind of donuts they’d like, put it in a bag and hand it to them and they can be on their way.

I usually don’t leave bad reviews at all. But today I was craving ice cream so I decided to go to payson market because they have good ice cream. I went there and I called before hand if the ice cream counter was open. They said yes so I went and some guy said No and they “apparently closed at 4:30” but the guy on the phone said until 8 I went up to a lady and asked what time they close and she said 8 for the ice cream counter we went up again and this guy didn’t even say “no sorry” he just said no .

Bakery sure has gone down. They make garlic bread daily but it’s too late 4 days before to put an order in to have 2 held? I called 5 days before Halloween and was told no to a dozen donuts. I called a week before valentines and was told no. My kids cake this last July tasted like chemicals. Just yikes….people who answer the phones aren’t friendly at all anymore either. Seems their bakery likes to say no more often than not.

Edit: my SO called and they let him order. So I guess you have to be a guy to get an order put in? Not a good look…

Very good market to go to. Not very busy, so you'll almost never wait long to checkout. Prices are good and they always have some good sales. If you're looking for Shasta soda, this is the place to go when in the area.

Do not shop here. Today was the last straw. Most of thier dairy products are expired or will in the next day or so. I cant even buy canned soups they have expired. Brought home some granola and saw experation dat from last month.

4-stars for donuts & sushi! Payson Market’s donuts are part of our Fun Friday morning tradition for a good price and quality- my kids love their glazed and apple fritter / bear claw, and I enjoy their fresh bagels with cream cheese. I can get in and out in 5 minutes, especially before 11am (they combine everything in boxes from their display case after).
We’ve also tried their sushi which hits the spot if you’re wanting something new- they even have a special roll called the Payson roll with mango in it!

I marked a star off because I do notice that I’m the only patron wearing a face covering (employees are good!) since masks do not seem to be required, so it honestly feels risky shopping here as part of a high-risk family. The signage and employees are apologetic (sorry we have to) rather than informative (here‘s HOW we’re keeping you safe) towards those who complain about changes from COVID-19—like boxing the donuts instead of doing the self-serve shelves.

Payson Market has been my family’s go to for all birthday and event cakes. I ordered a sheet cake for a wedding from the bakery 3 weeks before the wedding. A week and a half before the wedding my little brother ordered a birthday cake from the bakery and went to pick up the cake. The bakery gave him the wedding cake that had been ordered because they were both under the same last name, when he informed me of this I called the bakery and told them I wanted a different cake for the wedding as I didn’t not want a 3 week old cake for the wedding. The bakery agreed to making a new cake, at the wedding the cake had the exact same frosting design as the first cake with the cake itself and the frosting being so extremely dry it lead us to believe this was the same 3 week old cake. Needless to say we threw away the cake. Because of this I would not recommend Payson Market bakery for any cakes.
