I was blown away by all aspects of the work and the process:

1. Quick response and quick quote
2. Honest and fair rates (especially compared to the gouging that can occur in Truckee)
3. Timely commencement of work
4. Solid communication throughout the process
5. High quality work (despite the fact that I gave poor instructions)
6. Willing to add, remove, and adjust the work on the job and modify the cost accordingly.

It was not only a good experience working with Old Town, but it was refreshing and confidence inspiring dealing with the team.

I called 4 landscapers to get estimates for some defensible space work of placing 5 feet of gravel around the house, a exterior drain and a small flagstone patio. One called back and left a message they had availability then they disappeared and two others never replied. Alex at Old Town Landscape got back to me the day after I called and setup a date for an estimate.

Alex gave me an estimate two days later on the gravel and drain and let me know he could start the following week. Alex's quote (he works time & material) was reasonable so we hired him. Alex showed up as scheduled and was on time. I had to go out of town and requested Alex send me pictures or videos as the work progressed. Alex in-fact sent me pictures and videos as I had asked and updates via text.

Alex let me know he was running in to large boulders while installing the drain which would raise the price (hours worked). I already knew large granite rocks and boulders might be an issue so I approved the additional cost. The rocks & boulders were definitely no joke when I returned and saw them.

Alex finished the job in a timely manner, left the job site neat and clean and communicated throughout the job. Alex later gave me an estimate for the patio which ended up being outside of my budget. I truly couldn't ask for much better. Alex clearly demonstrated he understands the importance of communication at all stages of the process. I highly recommend Alex and Old Town Landscape.

Alex came out to our home to go through our outdoor water system. He was prompt and polite and helped us shut off the water for the season.
