Vast selection of a wide variety of organic herb and vegetable plants and more! I was very pleased with the quick shipping and the quality of the plants upon arrival. I added some pics to demonstrate how they arrived on 3/20/24 and how they are doing today on 5/2/24. A few didn't make it but that was my fault. The remainder are growing so well and they taste delicious! I will definitely return to the website for more!

Very disappointed. Ordered 6 scented geraniums due to the minimum order of 6 plants policy. 2 Fringed apple, 2 Chocolate Mint, and 2 Lemonbalm. Plants looked decently healthy upon arrival. However due to the small size of the plants I realized that a few weeks after planting only 2 of the plants I received were actually Geraniums. Instead of 2 Chocolate mint Geraniums, I received actual mint. I realized this due to how fast they were growing after I planted in the ground. Also instead of Lemon Balm Geranium I received what appears to be 2 ordinary citronella plants. Unfortunately the 2 Geraniums I actually did receive died. After reaching out to Mountain Valley Growers with my order number I was told they could not send me a refund due to them not being able to prove what I planted. I no longer had the original containers, even though I sent them a picture of the invoice I received in the mail with the plants. Seriously? Avoid this company. $80 down the drain on 2 plants that will die in winter, and 2 more that you should never plant due to their invasive nature. Attached are the pictures. The 2 in pots are mint, the 2 in ground are Citronella. If you want scented geraniums save your money and look elsewhere.

I'm honestly blown away at the quality of the plants and how well they were packaged and shipped to us. I will definitely order from them again. One slight downside is the cost of shipping, I wish it were cheaper HOWEVER, I won't dock a star for that. THANK YOU!

Buyer beware if ordering online. Ordered a full box of plants, over $400 with shipping. The plants are very tiny and weak, even for the small pot size. Ordered five lavender plants and all five were dead/dying upon arrival. Their response “the soil is too wet”. Avoid. Very disappointing.

These were packaged really well. Not a grain of soil out of place. About the only thing I’d like is to be able to have a email with a ship date next time. The only reason I knew they had shipped was because UPS sent me a notification.
My rosemary that I grew from seed 20 years ago died this past winter but I see that these guys have cold hardy rosemary so I’ll order again for sure.
Also I’d like to add that they have a wonderfully descriptive website and I learned quite a bit about some of my favorite herbs!

I do not recommend this nursery. I purchased a plant which, according to their description, was tall and stately. I planted it and it turned out to be low growing. I wrote them to let them know that they needed to change the description and never got a response. Very unprofessional. Poor customer service. Their descriptions are not accurate, which is important in determining where a plant should fit in your landscape.

Tried to order basil plants, but they refused to do tax exempt. Must have too much business.

I will let the correspondence speak for itself:

Your ship date is set for the week of July 5 which is the average last frost date for your area or is when the route to your area should be frost free. You should receive a UPS tracking number in your email when it leaves our facility. If you do not see your tracking number, please check your spam filter for a message from UPS.

Please explain as the last average frost date here is April 17 and by July 5 the weather is exceedingly hot. If you are simply behind schedule and you can guarantee delivery of healthy plants, that is understandable. The frost date stuff is not understandable.

We double checked your zip code and the USDA give us a frost free range between June 26 and July 11. If you would like to have plants earlier, you may reply to this email with “waive warranty” and we will schedule it for next week. If we do not hear back from you, we will leave the order as is.

Perhaps you have the wrong zip code: it is 87144. I just checked the USDA site and it responds correctly with zone 7B. Please ship next week; if I must waive the warranty I do so, but you can use other means to verify my last average frost date is April 17, and by not doing so and requiring I waive the warranty, you move rapidly toward the status of a company I do not trust to act competently.

We use a more involved matrix because there are many micro climates involved. We must use the information available to us. Shall we cancel this order for you? We have placed this order on hold pending your response. Thank you.

Send the order as soon as possible.

Thank you. We will leave the ship date as is.

Do not leave the shipping date as it originally was. Send As Soon As Possible. Furthermore, use your involved matrix and inform me exactly what micro climate exists in area code 87144 that would delay shipment until June 26 when temperatures are often in excess of 100 degrees, or failing that put me in contact with your supervisor.

We are sorry you are so upset. We feel it would be better at this point to cancel the order. Thank you.

For the fourth time, do not cancel the order and send the order as soon as possible. Put me in touch with your supervisor, and be assured I will follow up. I am certain the management wants to avoid a negative online review.

This order has been cancelled and refunded. We are sorry it didn’t work out. Thank you for choosing Mountain Valley Growers.

Then reorder. Send order as soon as possible.

We are sorry but we cannot do this for you.
