we had a number of projects for Meadowbrook, including the creation of a new rock garden and new organic garden beds. The crew was extremely knowledgeable, helpful, creative, and a pure pleasure to work with as they confirmed the changes every step of the way with us. I highly recommend this firm for any of your outdoor landscaping and planting needs as they have an amazing selection of flowers, trees, and shrubs and their pricing is very competitive for the quality of their work.

We really appreciate the quality plants and expert help. What we also appreciate is if someone doesn't know something they will find someone who does. Unlike the big box stores where all act as if they know everything, but really know little at best. Meadowbrook also stands behind their plants, which I've never needed, but just in case. We've had many issues with online and other retailers where quality was just not there, and that's such a hassle even if they happen to have a warranty.

I highly recommend Meadowbrook Gardens.

We buy all our flowers, perennials, trees, and shrubs from Meadowbrook Gardens. This year we had them do our mulch and it came out absolutely FANTASTIC!! I find them to be extremely helpful and knowledgable and don't even consider buying from a big box store. Their flowers are also nicer and much fuller. We have also used Meadowbrook Gardens to spray for ticks and have been very happy with that service. This is an all around great local business.

My chihuahua knows Meadowbrook by name now, and goes running to the car in excitement when she hears it. My husband and I have purchased close to a dozen trees there over the years, (I couldn't tell you how many plants) and have always found the staff to be extremely courteous and knowledgable. Collecting trees and exotic flowers as a hobby, we've been to dozens of nurseries in multiple states, and Meadowbrook still stands out as one of the best. Walking through there vast selection, you can tell it's a place that truly has a love and passion for what they do.

We bought three exotic maples from them last year. Aside from giving us an incredible price, a month later the arborist came to our house for free to check the health of trees we bought else where. He even ordered us a specialty paste to repair dear damage done to a few of our trees. Now that we know how vast their selection is and how well maintained their trees are, they're one of the first places we go to look for trees.

NICE PLANTS, NICE GARDENERS, OUTRAGEOUS LABOR PRICES

I bought three boxwoods (each about 1 1/2 feet high) to put in the front of my house, a smallish area of less 100 sq ft.

I asked for help transporting and planting (as everything I plant myself dies)! The boxwoods and a small amount of peat moss and Holly-tone together cost about $420.

The labor cost I was given was also $420. At the garden center, I thought the sum high but was told that it would take 2 men at least 1/2 day to do the job.

In short, the actual planting took one man (only one) about 1 hour and 15 minutes. I do realize there is travel time and that the employee had to load a truck (put some dirt and pick up three plants). In the end, I calculate that Meadowbrook charged me over $210/hour for labor, if not more.

Please know that I did try to discuss the issue with Meadowbrook, twice. I went back to the garden center first- but 'the owner' was not there. I also called in the following days. (Note: the garden center did not call me, even though I left my number.) The person I talked with-- a senior manager- said there was nothing he could do.

I will never go back to this garden center. While I am always willing to pay fair prices to those who do the work, I balk when I am cheated.
