Working around trees is challenging, but I appreciate it. Currently 1/5/2024. Leaves from deciduous trees front and back will not need mowing for awhile. Part of my growing up on East coast forests that the leaves are empowering and helps calm me. There only remains a 1/4 area not requiring service especially with change in temperature and frequency of irrigation monthly at this time. Thanks for your help, I really appreciate it.

DO NOT USE THEM FOR ANY SERVICES!

I have had the worst experience working with Lawn Starters.

In two days, I have spoken 7+ customer support representative (Diana, Mark M, Ezra, John and couple more I didn't get names for) and spent over 3 hours on phone.

They don't communicate within each other or with their service provider or with customers. I had two providers visit my home without prior notice and started working on my lawn without informing. This is trespassing.

The services I had requested for and received on 10/17 is incomplete. Debris were not cleaned after bush trimming, weed was not whacked and the additional weed treatment I paid for is incomplete.Your providers have left both my front yard and back yard in a mess. My HOA person just gave me a warning to clear out the mess you have created.

Since 10/17 I have not requested any additional services but I keep getting new service added to my account and they keep sending random service providers. They keep putting unnecessary charges on my account for services I have not requested and different customer service representative are putting in and removing work orders and asking for more information without looking at the history of my account.

I do not have the patience to deal with your company anymore. I have tried to be patient to work with them since two day for one little task.

I have an event coming up on Friday and their providers have made a mess of my house. I spoke with customer service to see if someone is available to fix the issue and they said they can't guarantee anyone in next 24-48 hours.

I have a series of confusing email communication from them. Some state I will be assigned a new provider to fix the issue, some say I have raised additional service request and some say they will reach out to original landscaper to hear his side of story and get him to service. I am not sure what the next steps are for resolution before Friday 10/21.

Now I will have to find another landscaper to clean up my lawn which is going to cost me so much because of the mess they created.

They have wasted my money, time and energy in past two days.

Lawn Starter is sort of an interesting concept in the landscaping business. As far as we can tell, it works by connecting independent contractors with customers through a centralized service and database. We, the consumers, don't have to spend a ton of time working on searching for and vetting lawn care professionals, and lawn care professionals don't have to work quite so hard to advertise and find customers. So far, the actual contractors who have worked with us have been a bit of a mixed bag, but our current crew, which we are hoping to keep on board forever, has been absolutely outstanding. In circumstances when we haven't been happy with particular contractors, we have been able to switch, and Lawn Starter has been able to address our issues satisfactorily. Pricing for most indivisual services seems fair, and we intend to continue to use Lawn Starter for the foreseeable future.

When I first used LawnStarter, it was convenient because I needed to set up service quickly. The first of my required three service appointments was very poor in quality (uneven patches, terrible edge work along walls), so I took photos and left a review accordingly. I wasn't contacted at all, though the service was better on the subsequent two appointments. I stopped service for a few weeks while I was traveling. When I returned and resumed service, I was given an appointment immediately, which was great --- until nobody showed up. Following the support instructions, I waited an additional day before reporting it. A couple of days later, I received the response that there were no crews available in my area and my account had been cancelled. Rather than telling me that BEFORE they gave me an apparently false scheduling confirmation, instead I had to wait over a week to learn this. So now I have to start from the beginning, only now my lawn is overgrown. TERRIBLE experience. I do not recommend them at all.

Signed up for this service thinking it would be reliable! It was horrible. My crew was supposed to show up on a Tuesday and never did. I had to call lawnstarter and inquire about what was going on… I got the feeling they didn’t even know, but, rescheduled me for Friday. Noon on Friday comes around and, alas! The crew has yet to show up. I called lawnstarter again and they assured me the crew would be there. When 4 o m’ clock came around and no one had showed, I called again. After being on hold for 10 minutes they informed me the crew would not be showing up. They couldn’t even give me a reason. Again, this was me having to call… Not once did they ever initiate communication with me. If you want your lawn/yard work done, don’t book with lawnstarter. This company is an absolute joke.

update
Katherine did reach out and was apologetic and offered to *try* to get me on a crew’s schedule and make me priority free of charge(I think I should have been priority after a crew didn’t show up the first time, but, that’s neither here nor there at this point.) I definitely appreciated the offer but did did not take her up on it… I have very little confidence that a crew would actually show up. At least the customer service seems to be taking a turn for the better.

The job itself was okayish. Lawn looked ok.
Basically weedeater was used on back yard,, lots of grass blown into my pool.. we were not told photos would be taken of our yard and sent to the company to process for a long grass fee charge of 33.00. Our grass was not over 6 inches , crew stated fee charged over 9 inches. When the company offerred to credit it was not back to our card but rather placed on account towards next service. They also have a safety and trust fee of just under 2.00 added as well. Hard to find phone number for business as it is not on the app. Hard to remove/update payment info.

Would havevrated 5 stars had we not had to go through all this extra hassle and extra charges that were not quoted up-front..lots of finger pointing between company and crew as to whos to blame for the double billing and fees

Husband is furious and if not resolved will be hiring someone through Handz

The people providing the service are not always the same people.
I've had issues with the providers providing a specific date and time.
The providers assigned have to commute a long distance to my property.
LawnStarters have billed me twice for services not provided because they do not have a billing approval process for their providers.
