Heritage Village is a real piece of history here in the Tampa Bay Area. I had never been here and didn’t event know it existed. I was actually trying to go to the botanical gardens and stumbled upon this! I was with my whole family and all of us were super happy to take a tour. Everything was free. They had a working general store where we got some great glass bottle coke. There were tour guides throughout. I’m not sure if that’s all the time or just when we happened to go there. I actually am stunned that this place had no door fee. It’s so well done. Highly recommend.

The volunteers were all very friendly. This park is amazing! Great history, large park with good map and authentic furnishings. Volunteers in the different buildings could be a bit more informed but we're all very friendly. The Visitors Center was also well manned. Don't miss this free park! Allow at least a few hours.

This place is amazing!! Free admission and a trip back in time. Some houses are air conditioned so it a nice reprieve from the heat. It is very accessible for wheelchairs and other people with other disabilities. I can’t believe I didn’t know this please existed after living in Florida for many years. Right next to the Botanical Gardens so you can easily make a day of it!! You can spend hours here. Peaceful and tranquil environment for all ages.

I was looking for something new to do, having visited this area for 12+ years and stumbled onto this place and really enjoyed it! They have a lot of homes and buildings you can tour. Most are full of artifacts and pictures of families who worked and lived in the area and how they survived. It looks like they have live demonstrations, which I assume are on the weekend, and the staff at the H.C General Store were very nice, and this was one of my favorite stops at Heritage Village.
Wear comfortable shoes and get a map so you can be sure to visit each place on the property.
Also, there is a Botanical Garden attached, which is also very pretty and has a place for kids to play and rest. Lots of photo ops too!

Very cool historical houses! Some of the homes are staffed and they will tell you about the home and its contents. The general store was pretty cool as was the garage. You can walk around the grounds and take in the historical architecture. The coolest part to me, though, was the old train station.
