He provided clear options and organized next-day delivery seamlessly. Collaborating with him was a breeze. The following morning, I called to request a minor adjustment, and Heather was helpful, promising to update me if the change couldn’t be made. Shortly thereafter, Casey, the delivery driver, contacted me to say he was en route. Upon arrival, he humorously teased about not making the earlier changes, though they had been completed. Went today to order some veggie mix soil to be delivered. From placing the order to scheduling and delivery, it was top notch. They had a slot open for delivery same day! The driver called 15mins. prior delivery and was spot on his arrival time. He dropped the soil exactly where I wanted it. Great experience that will have me coming back in the near future. Roseville location.
The staff is very helpful. They answer all your questions and take care of you. I ordered 2 different rocks, and they delivered it the same day! The driver was extremely nice. Put rocks exactly where I needed them in front of my house.

This review is written for those without a lifetime of knowledge in locally sourced building materials. The Berry street store is lacking on many fronts, not the least of which is customer service.
If you’re looking for classic red, brown, or blonde decomposed granite, evidently you’ll need to look outside of Roseville. This is the third supply yard in town that I’ve visited, who carry a product called ‘screened DG’, however, it is not. It should be called mixed DG.
I called the store earlier in the week and inquired as to the makeup of their natural DG, as I had experienced the same issues described here at two other yards. The woman at the desk stated it was classic reddish brown DG. Upon visiting the yard today, it is clear to me, that the material is NOT DG in the classic sense. What you get, is a mixture, of very fine dg sand & fine soils, along with a stray chunk, here and there, of actual granite. The majority of the larger pieces are 1/8”- round and oval stone, material which is completely foreign to DG. The round shape of the stones have a huge effect on the ability to compact the material, and maintain it”s form.
Hasties does carry other gray products which they call Premium DG, and since I wasn’t interested due to the unnatural color, it is not included in this review.
I’ve lived in this area my entire life, grew up on the shores of Folsom Lake, and spent a 45 year career, with more than half of those as a superintendent, in the construction industry. I have overseen the installation of thousands of cubic yards of the material, so I know DG, and it’s not what Hasties is selling under their ‘screened’(it’s actually mixed) product.
This particular Hasties manager, when called out on the product, defensively and blatantly stated the contrary. He asked if I had bought the material and was unhappy, and I said, “no, I had pre reviewed the material, and found it to be unacceptable”. His response was, “so, you’re just complaining?”. I immediately turned and headed for the door, but he was really mad and began to question my intelligence and knowledge as I exited.
DO NOT accept this material as DG. It will never perform or have the appearance of natural DG. The sooner suppliers are put on notice that we know what they're doing, they’ll either need to provide the genuine article, or call it something else.
There is another word often used when a company advertises a well-known local product, but it produces something altogether different, but I won’t use it so as to ensure the longevity of my post.
