This place is a gem, the environment is so botanically mesmerizing. The plants are beautiful and healthy…many selections. Seeing Julie is one of the perks too, she is so knowledgeable, kind and passionate in what she does…I always come out with beautiful plants.

Recently got the lilly and the lotuses I got last year with Julie’s help. Hindu white lotus and elegance.

I've had 4 ponds over the past 30 years starting with a 1,500 gallon and eventually working my way up to a beautiful 46,000 gallon pond. I've learned a considerable amount over the years about keeping and maintaining a pond with fish and plants.
I purchased a property a couple years ago that has a preexisting 150,000+ gallon earthen pond that has a few native fish, some large turtles and absolutely no plants. I've reached a point with the landscaping, that I can now focus on the pond.
I decided to go to Golden Pond because it is local to me. I try to support local businesses when feasible. In addition, I was curious about what they had, but figured they'd have high prices and would therefore end up ordering most of the plants I want to get from online stores that I've used several times.
Upon arriving, I was greeted by the owners and an employee. They were extremely nice and had loads of useful information applicable to my situation. They kindly took the time to share their vast knowledge with me, providing me a great education about not just the plants, but the benefits and challenges of planting in an earthen pond. They also specifically pointed out the invasive plants, which are usually fine in a pot within a concrete or lined pond, but when used in an earthen pond like mine, result in a lot of necessary maintenance that must be kept up on or else the plants take over the pond, ruining both the aesthetics and the aquatic environment for fish, turtles and other animals
I had planned on planting several varieties of lotus, LillyPads, Parrot Feather, Cattails and Flowering Rush. Apparently these are all invasive in my situation except for a decent number of Lilly Pad varieties.
After getting educated, I took the time to explore the grounds and found a number of plants, both aquatic and terrestrial that I found beautiful and would work well in my pond. I found that their prices were very reasonable, usually significantly cheaper than what I would pay for at several online stores I have used in the past (and that is not including the shipping charges). I found that the specimens they sell are often larger than the sizes specified at the online stores.
Ultimately, I have decided to purchase all my plants from Golden Pond, except for the Giant Amazon Lilly that they do not carry.
I have also decided to have them come out to conduct a pond assessment, which is very reasonably priced for all the service that is included and information provided.

This place is a wonderful nursery not only for the wide variety of plants, but also it is full of great ideas. The owner is really knowledgeable and I learned a lot about how to make my pond gardens thrive. Prices are more than reasonable. If you visit, allow enough time to see all the different garden areas.

Everything single thing about this place is mesmerizing. So welcoming and peaceful.

So obviously the plants! This is not the first time I've purchased plants from them but it was the first time in person. And WOW!! Even better than I expected. I left with a ton of wonderful plants that in just the few days since purchase have gotten even better and are the perfect thing for my project.

Now it's early for the plant season but their selection was already top notch. Healthy and beautiful. The choice was overwhelming to say the least. I must have spent a good hour wondering in awe, trying to decide what would be best for me. I know a little about the plants so I was happy to freely roam but everybody who works there is more than helpful, friendly and knew more than you could ever want to know about all the plants so if you don't know plants and just have an idea and know your space, they got your back.

10 out of 10, ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 100% satisfied

I'll be back more than once this year even though it's an hour and a half away. Easily one of the coolest places I've visited in awhile.

Thank you for the help, the beautiful plants and just letting me explore the wonderful grounds. I'll bring some fish for your ponds next time.

i went here and it was overwhelming at first because there were so many options but staff was extremely helpful. they were also able to create one of their floating island "arrangements" which was nice and looks good in my pond. one of my plants accidentally included a metamorphizing frog so that was cool because i now have frogs in my pond. one thing to note is that they apparently dont treat the plants they sell for invasive pond snails/eggs so unless you "dip" or quarantine the plants prior to introduction into your pond theres a better than likely chance that you will develop an pond snail infestation. i guess its partially my fault since i didnt research introducing pond plants but it would have been nice if the staff had warned me about that. i have probably hundreds of these snails and ive long since given up trying to get rid of them. ive asked pond forums how to get rid of them and followed given advice to no avail and im not about to remove the plants and use pool shock to nuke the pond and start from scratch (the infestation will probably return because of egg sacks on submerged plants) so ive accepted the reality and lived with them in there. i would give this place 5 stars otherwise just nicked the 1 star for not informing me of the possiblity of invasive snail infestations and how to mitigate that.

the invasive pond snails i got from the plants purchased here are the apple and ramshorn snails these are an invasive species which do not require a breeding pair to reproduce. i wouldnt have minded it if it was a japanese trapdoor snail. mystery snail, or assasin snail but these were just a generic invasive species.

@ the owners you might consider treating your plants for invasive species prior to selling them to eliminate this problem dipping the plants or treating the display ponds using predatory snails or fish or some other kind of means. its really not fair to sell potentially contaminated goods without giving a warning. your prices were fine but the expenses ive incurred since trying to clear up my infestation would have in hindsight made me look elsewhere for pond plants... as for who is at fault for the presence of pond snails that would squarely be on you because this was a brand new pond with new pvc plumbing a new pressure filter, and no rocks present just a black liner so there was no prior infestation. sorry to blame you but facts are facts. still i would recommend your business but please do better.

My husband and I bought a floating island for our pond. I gotta say it's one of the best things we have bought for our pond! The fish love it and love to hide under it and it looks so beautiful!! If u have a pond it's worth every penny to get one.
