This place not being plant based anymore was not a problem for me who I was with. I was sad though that I couldn’t try the kombucha my hotel’s outdated guide said it used to have. My eggs Benedict was very good, glad I got it. But the hash browns that came with it weren’t seasoned or really much cooked. It was loud in the restaurant, with a child kicking and screaming on the floor and a man sitting near us whose dog kept barking when whatever affected it kept happening. Service was sporadic, we weren’t given tableware until our food had already been served and we had to ask for it. Weren’t asked about refills or if we were okay until we had been eating for a while. It wasn’t horrible, but didn’t impress.

I never went here when it was a plant-based restaurant so I can't compare how it is now to how it used to be.
We sat for quite a while waiting for coffees to come which gave us time to really observe the atmosphere. It kind of felt like we were in an abandoned restaurant that someone was just running a business out of.
They had one server and she was very busy trying to keep up with the growing number of folks sitting down for breakfast and lunch.
We were a bit frustrated with the wait, as we were very hungry so I was already thinking this place needed a 1 star review.
However... once the food came I completely changed my tune. Their breakfast burritos were absolutely insane. Some of the best I've ever had. My friends got some sort of meal I haven't seen before. Kind of looked like breakfast nachos - they had some green sauce that was incredible. So spicy and delicious. I will put up with their downfalls to eat here again when we visit.
Whoever is running this place needs to get some more hands on deck and get the interior to be a bit more welcoming - it looked so barren.

We loved our time at the golden burro cafe! Our server was super friendly and helpful, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere has an old-timer diner vibe that we found charming. We had the bandito burger and the ground beef tostadas - both were great! Portion size was solid for the price. We’ll be back!

Came here on a whim while on vacation, I ordered a hot chocolate and it was the BEST hot chocolate I’ve had in my entire life, it was absolutely massive and the quality of the food was great, we sat at the bar and were very satisfied with service!

The Golden Burro exceeded my expectations. There's very few full plant based options in the mountains, and to have a vegan retreat in the heart of Leadville is amazing. I will go to this place every time I come to Ski Cooper! The cheese on the fries could have been better melted, but the chile was fantastic. The Buffalo Chickn sandwich was outstanding as well. I also really loved the Trumpet Mushroom Rocky Mountain Oysters, they were tasty. It wasn't a cheap meal, but ya know, inflation and you're in a mountain town and it's ALL VEGAN! It was really great and I hope they continue to thrive. The baked goods looked *delicious*. Will definitely be back this winter.

Loved this 1938 diner. Really nice old school feel to it. Friendly staff and delicious vegan food.

Had a great experience at this plant based restaurant! We were on our way to a completely different place when we noticed it was a totally vegan restaurant. We were so glad we stopped in and decided to eat here. The food was great and there was even some live music playing that evening. I recommend this place if you are in Leadville, and especially if you are plant based/vegan.
