Genevieve Schmidt has done a little bit of everything in my garden: Design, plant selection, installation of new landscaping and irrigation, and ongoing monthly maintenance. She's incredibly fun to work with, her work is top-notch, and she really knows her plants and the local climate. She always communicates very clearly, gets back to me quickly, and meets deadlines.

Her crews are highly trained--they know how to care for every specific plant, and they tend to stick around long-term, so that you see the same faces every month and they get to know the garden over the seasons.

Genevieve has also designed many larger-scale commercial projects around town, and I've watched them grow and flourish, so I know that her design work is solid and her landscapes hold up and look great over the years.

I am thrilled with the garden that Genevieve has designed, planted, and maintained at my home along the Humboldt Bay. Working with her through every step of the process, I learned invaluable dimensions of the art of gardening. My property was a special challenge--sand and nothing else. Through her own experience, further research, and consultation, Genevieve produced the perfect soil recipe. She treated the area as a unique microbial ecosystem, and understood how to supplement the sandy soil with organic and micro mineral additives so that plants would not just survive but thrive in this environment. Genevieve's overall design, selection of plants, plant placement, as well as borders, mulches and other details were simply outstanding.

Through this whole process, it was a great pleasure to work with Genevieve. She is someone who not only enjoys but loves her work, and this love is reflected in every dimension of landscaping. She also communicates easily and quickly, explains what she thinks on each issue while leaving the client with final decisions. There were budget constraints in my case and it wasn't initially clear to me that I could afford someone of Genevieve's talents. She quickly relieved my anxieties about this aspect of landscaping and made every effort to keep the project within the limits that I had specified. I can't imagine anyone who I would rather do landscape design for me. Genevieve is simply extraordinary, and that's what happens when you truly love your work!

Genevieve installed our prize winning yard in 2005 and has maintained it since then. We are very pleased with her work. She is knowledgeable about plants that thrive in our climate. One of the things I appreciate most is we get the same gardeners each month (for maintenance). They are very familiar with the needs of each plant in the yard.
