Alex and the Florida Landscape Living crew did an amazing job on our home. Their attention to detail is top notch. We’re happy that we selected them to completely re haul our front yard. From the sod to everything you see in the pics was just completed by FLL nearly 2 months ago. We highly recommend them and will be using them for our outdoor projects going forward. DO NOT HIRE FLORIDA LANDSCAPE LIVING – A Nightmare Experience!
Hiring Florida Landscape Living was one of the worst decisions my wife and I have ever made. This company is a complete disaster—unprofessional, dishonest, and grossly incompetent. They have wasted our time, destroyed our backyard, and stolen our money.
Delays, Lies, and Excuses
We signed a contract in June 2023, expecting a smooth, timely project. Instead, we have been strung along for seven months of delays, broken promises, and outright deception. Here’s a timeline of their failures:
August 2023: No work started. We made changes to the contract, adding scope.
September 2023: New contract signed. Told work would begin in November and be done by Christmas.
December 2023: After personnel excuses, work finally begins on December 4.
February 2024: Last day of consistent work. Three major phases—kitchen, pool deck, patio deck—remain unfinished.
February 2024: They abandon the pool deck phase, claiming it’s "impossible." This was a lie, as five other contractors have since confirmed the work was entirely feasible.
March 2024: We inquire about canceling the kitchen phase due to financial hardship. Instead of discussing options, they immediately canceled it and tried to charge us $5,000 for work they never even started—all while they canceled a phase themselves without penalty.
May 2024: Eight months into our contract, our backyard is still a disaster, and their team refuses to fix major quality issues. We end up having to hire a second company, who was amazing, to finish there work.
Unacceptable Quality – They Should Be Ashamed
The work they did complete is a complete joke. Here are just a few examples of their poor craftsmanship:
Travertine Patio Deck – Uneven, wobbly tiles, massive gaps where sand should be, and improper grading that causes large puddles where the kitchen is supposed to be installed. We were forced to pay $600 to fix a mistake THEY made.
Putting Green – Unusable from day one due to bumps and uneven installation. Their team tried to "fix" it by hitting it with a tamper, which did nothing. When I followed up, they voided our warranty, blaming us for damages that had nothing to do with the real issue.
New Sod – Instead of removing all bushes, trees, and grass as contracted, they left an ugly tree stump behind.
Fencing – Warped and poorly stained, leaving large gaps and an unfinished, cheap-looking appearance.
Pergola Topper – Installed a leaking topper over the kitchen area. They’ve claimed for 2.5 months that a replacement is coming, yet we are still waiting.
Permitting Fraud? – They did not permit our pergola, allegedly to "save costs." They told me if anyone asks, I should send them to their team. I trusted them at the time, but now I realize this may have left me legally vulnerable.
They Took Our Money and Ran
At this point, we feel robbed. They owed us $9,000 for work they never started, and they’ve only given us $4500.
Final Verdict: AVOID AT ALL COSTS
Florida Landscape Living should not be in business. Their lack of integrity, work ethic, and professionalism has ruined what was supposed to be an exciting backyard transformation. We’ve missed holidays, family gatherings, and major events due to their incompetence.
I strongly urge anyone considering this company to run the other way. If you value your money, time, and sanity, stay far, far away.
I will be filing complaints with the BBB, reporting them to local consumer protection agencies, and pursuing legal action if they do not resolve these issues immediately.
Do NOT hire Florida Landscape Living unless you enjoy endless frustration, shoddy work, and being ripped off.

Do Not Trust Florida Landscape Living – A Personal Warning

I’m utterly disheartened by my experience with Florida Landscape Living. What began as an exciting project to transform our backyard has turned into a prolonged nightmare filled with delays, shoddy workmanship, and blatant disregard for our needs.

A Timeline of Disappointment:
Pre-Project Excitement: My husband and I were initially thrilled by the company’s promises and professionalism during the consultation phase.

Delays That Drove Us Crazy: Despite signing contracts and adjusting plans as needed, nothing proceeded as promised. Work was delayed repeatedly—from starting months late to canceling key phases without warning.

Broken Promises and Hidden Costs: When it came time to cancel the kitchen phase, we were shocked to be slapped with a $5,000 fee for work that hadn’t even started, all while other phases were abandoned without any penalty. It took us reaching out to the owner to get that fee waived but they still owed us $9000 in refunds and have only paid us $4500 so far. They won’t respond to our requests to complete the refund.

Quality That Falls Far Below Expectations:

Travertine Patio Deck: The deck is uneven, with awkward gaps and puddles forming in areas meant for our new kitchen—a costly and unnecessary error.

Putting Green: What was meant to be a fun feature turned out unusable from the start, marred by bumpy, uneven turf that no amount of "repair" could salvage.

Other Issues: From an unsightly leftover tree stump in the sod installation to warped, poorly stained fencing and a leaking pergola topper that’s been left unfixed for months, the list of issues is endless.

What This Means to Me:
I trusted Florida Landscape Living to create a beautiful space for our family gatherings and celebrations. Instead, their lack of accountability has cost us precious time, money, and memories. Their excuses and half-hearted fixes have left us feeling cheated and frustrated, with no sign of the promised improvements.

Final Words of Caution:
If you’re considering hiring Florida Landscape Living, please think twice. Our experience has been nothing short of a disaster. I strongly urge anyone looking to improve their home to steer clear of this company. Their unprofessionalism, poor craftsmanship, and unethical practices are simply unacceptable. I am now taking further steps to seek a refund and hold them accountable for their actions.

Every detail, from design to installation, was handled with care. The team was professional, courteous, on time and kept everything clean throughout the install. Alex, our designer, truly listened to what we were trying to accomplish and he simply knocked it out of the park. Everyone that enters our backyard is transported to an island oasis, so we cannot thank FLL enogh for making our dreams comes to life!

We have worked with Kelley and Greg for years across several homes. On our current home, we had a landscape architect develop a layout and Greg implemented it. Unfortunately, the design did not really "pop" and we asked Greg to rework it using his vision. The end result was incredible and years later, we continue to get people asking who did our landscaping - I happy recommend Florida Landscape Living to anyone that asks. I took some time before I decided to write my review. My experience with Florida landscape living was a lengthy one. It began in Jan of 2022 and we didn’t break ground for 9 months later. Covid and labor shortages just kept piling on the push back. While I’m extremely happy with the landscape design I’m not pleased with the artificial turf or wood pergola. If you’re looking for an upscale landscape design, they will do a great job. However it was the add ons that have caused the lower rating. When the turf was being laid out I asked the workers if they were going to lay a tarp over the dirt to avoid weeds from growing through it. I was assured it was not needed because the turf we selected wouldn’t allow that to happen. Unfortunately that is simply not true. I’m having to spray the turf with a home weed treatment twice a week as well as pick the weeds. Much more maintenance involved for a product I was told was maintenance free. Keeping the grass would have been much simpler for me and this project would have been a lot less expensive. I didn’t want the wood pergola because of the maintenance on it. Wear and tear under smoldering heat and rainy summers. Within a week of being built the wood began to crack. I contacted the company and was advised that’s normal for the wood to crack. All four posts now have deep cracks. If I had to go back and do it all again, I’d stick to the landscape only.

We could not be more pleased with the way our project turned out! The team at Florida Landscape Living was a dream to work with… creative, professional, hardworking, responsive… we could go on and on. Our project consisted of an almost complete redo of our front landscaping as well as the creation of a garden oasis around our back patio complete with a custom pergola. The last minute decision to line the driveway with foxtail palms was the cherry on top of an already beautiful design. We have received so many compliments from visitors and neighbors. We can’t wait to work with this great group again.
