Went in for beautiful plants, and got them and a wonderful experience as well!

Carla and her husband (I’m terrible at remembering names 😅) were so knowledgeable, friendly and passionate about what they do, that every plant had a little story and detailed information that made us want to stay longer and take all of the plants with us! Definitely returning and cannot recommend them enough! Thank you again so much! 😊❤️🪴

I’ve been meaning to stop at Castillo’s Tropicals nursery for at least two months prior to 3 days ago. But because of my schedule, I’ve missed out on some amazing trees they carried. I only meant to purchase 2 trees, but ended up with 5 large trees total! I’ve been communicating with Carla via FB market messaging system and always responded in a timely manner. Carla would send photos of the actual trees that I was interested in so I knew what I was getting prior to the arrival. I finally got to stop by 3 days ago and I was greeted with a gentleman. I suspiciously asked him if he was the Carla I’ve been communicating with, but then he smiled and said: No I’m Jose. 😆.

Jose was a pleasure to talk to, personable, and I can tell he loves their nursery. I arrived 30min before their mid day closure and I didn’t feel rushed at all while perusing their awesome and growing inventory. He explained everything that he knew about certain trees and he even showed me how to prune properly so that I can “control” the way the foliage and branches grow. If Jose didn’t have the answer, he was on the phone with Carla. What a team! Jose also showed me his large, healthy, and beautiful koi fishes. I wish I had a pond.

As I stated earlier, I was there mainly to pick up 2 Caimito trees, but as my eyes wondered around their nursery, I couldn’t help but to add 3 more trees, a nicely sized flowering Arkin carambola tree, a beautiful Grand Nain banana tree(he said it is one of the sweetest tasting bananas from Dominican Republic), and an awesome example of a Red Wax Jambu Apple tree that is so nicely pruned that it will be planted in front of our house as a center piece!

I brought an 8ft bed truck and probably could’ve taken more home, but I wanted to respect their mid day closure hours as I could not come much later in the day. I will have to make another trip to purchase more quality plants and trees in the near future! I am really grateful and appreciative of Carla and Jose for their expertise and in having a quality nursery with so many varieties of plants/trees not too far away from me.

Being new to the area and looking to landscape our new house with edible fruits we stopped by to purchase a Kumquat and Avocado tree. We ended up getting to know some amazing people. Karla and Jose were so patient and gracious, it was an experience unlike any other nursery we had been to in the region. They really show a lot of pride and love in what they do and have made repeat customers out of us! They’re really great at responding on FB messenger too! It’s a beautiful drive out there and we can’t wait to go back and see what they get next!

Wonderful place with incredible plants! Not only are they a great family run business they are great neighbors. Definitely try the "miracle fruit" if you can!
