Leigh Anna and Matt at Baldwin Turf did an absolutely fantastic job on my backyard last month. It was quite a large project, and their team came in and made it happen in just a couple of days.

I'm extremely pleased with the results. Everyone at Baldwin Turf was extremely professional, and you really can't beat their prices too! Would highly recommend for anyone needing to lay sod.

Given the long wait time to have our new sod installed my husband was all set to be unhappy with them, but they came a week earlier than expected and hands down have been the best customer service from a company that we have experienced in quite a while. The crew was very knowledgeable and worked very. hard to make sure our front yard was level and prepared for the new sod to be installed. The sod was laid the following week and it is beautiful. They did such a great job and we are so happy with our grass and our experience with Baldwin. We had an area that was starting to look a tad brown and we called them and THE SAME DAY they arrived at our house to remedy the situation. We are so impressed with them! We are so happy and love our new CitraBlue sod! Thank you Baldwin Turf for exceeding our expectations!!

Let’s talk about Lexi. We had an order for a small amount of grass weeks ago that they could not deliver. Fine. We are flexible. The next scheduled delivery coincided with my hubby having a couple of days off. We worked hard to pull up the old dead sod to prepare for the new. It never arrived. We have two dogs so this becomes a major problem with constant dirt in the house. My hubby called and Lexi informed us that a call had been made to tell us that the delivery was delayed again. We have no record of a call. When we informed her of that she responded with what I can only relate to as a teenager style tantrum. It was not nice and offensive. I was the one experiencing a lack of customer service but Lexi felt as though she needed to create more drama. Lexi has no business dealing with rightfully upset customers. Please have an adult monitor the situation in the future.

Please don’t trust Baldwin Turf to have “premium quality sod” that they advertise on their webpage. We purchased sod for our entire home about a month ago. It looked good at first, but within a few days, we had an entire sod worm infestation. We had it treated but the sod worms continued to persist.

We reached out to Baldwin Turf to see what they could do and they completely blamed us. We were told that we should have known to have it treated (which we did anyway after we found the infestation) and nothing else could be done.

Terrible customer service, especially being in a small town, and poor sod from wherever it’s sourced from.

Have used this company and (Grass Roots Landscaping which merged with it) for years. They do a good job and are responsive to special requests like repairing sprinklers, lawn pump, and hurricane cleanup. We have had our ups and downs over the years. Some crews are better than others.
One big negative: the telephone receptionist is a smart aleck and very snippy and abrupt. We dread having to call the office and having to deal with her. I can only imagine that she is a family member of the owner. No one else could act that way and keep her job. That's why I gave 4 stars instead of 5. I see many customers have complained about Lexi in their reviews.

I hate leaving bad reviews. I know they can affect a business so I only leave them when I'm really disheartened. I experienced good and then what I consider a couple of concerning things with my relatively minor sod installation project with Baldwin Turf.

First, they are responsive. Jackie answers the phones & email correspondence very efficiently. I appreciated this. Matt came out immediately to measure and provide a quote -- one for Delivery of sod only and the other to include installation. The quote was received immediately.

Second, their crews were very pleasant and seemed to want to do a good job. However, the crews showed up and asked me what needed to be done. They did ring the doorbell the first day. Apparently there's no coordination between Matt, who did the quote and was given the project requirements, and the crews who showed up on two separate days to first, prep, and then do the installation.

The reason I ordered sod is we had concrete work done in the back of the house. I didn't want heavy equipment on my paver driveway so used the side yard as the pathway for equipment used for the concrete project. Needless to say, what was left was a heavily grooved area that the concrete company had filled in with dirt.

The day the crew showed up to install grass, there was no coordination about where the 6 pallets of sod were to go. I had this lovely sand-only pathway all the way up the side of my yard but sure enough they used a small frontloader (I think that's what they're called) to drive pallets of grass up the paver driveway and stacked them all on the driveway. I was mortified but too late to prevent them driving heavy equipment on my paver driveway. I work from home otherwise I would have never known.

Last night my husband and I went for a walk and noticed a small area of the edge of the driveway is lower than the rest of the driveway and the pavers are further apart than they should be. My heart just sunk. I never thought that we'd have damage resulting from a relatively simple job like sod installation. There are also a couple scrape marks that I haven't had a chance to explore -- perhaps dirt, perhaps scrapes.

We did have another issue that cropped up that was eventually handled to my satisfaction. But I feel like it should never have been an issue in the first place and I hate having to 'defend' myself after hiring a company to do a professional job and to do right by their customers.

I've seen other reviews where folks felt they needed to be monitored. I agree. I would definitely be home and monitor what is going on.

I contracted Baldwin Turf to replace Zoysia on my front lawn during a very busy time of the year. The grass was sprayed to kill the existing grass. After three weeks of waiting I finally called to have an appointment made to have the job completed. I had a lot of new sand added as some of the yard was lower than the street and when it rained my yard was being washed away. I felt like I had to be on site to make sure the front yard was raised enough to ensure water did not stand in my yard during a hard rain. I pointed out to the on site supervisor where they had not completed the job to the lot line. They finally came back about 10 days later to complete the job. Only, they still did not go all the way to the lot line and also covered up one of the sprinkler heads. I uncovered it. There are quite a few small gaps between the sod pieces but was told the grass would cover that quickly. I live in the area and wish I could recommend them. I would only if the price is right and you do not mind being an active participant in the supervision of the project.
