I decided to take a few days before writing my review to help write more accurately.

This is an amazing nursery and gardens, even though it seems to be run from home, it is on a couple acres and in the outskirts.
When you step out of your car it already seems like a wonderful place. The man was the one there at the time and was very friendly, and who I assume is his wife was only there for a moment but seemed nice as well.

When you step into the area with the ‘complex’ bonsai’s it is like stepping into another place entirely- it is so beautiful. There are so many bonsai to see, as well as a pond which we only saw for a short time, an area of thousands of pots (which we only saw from afar), and another area of bonsai starters (we did not make it over there this trip). They also have some non-bonsai plants. Anyone could surely spend hours here, though we didn’t want to overstay our welcome!
This is definitely an amazing place, just make sure to email in advance- It’s common decency (and it’s rather solitary, with a gate around the property).

I very much enjoyed my trip to this nursery and garden, and highly recommend going here even if it’s just a visit. (it is always nice to support small/local businesses and people)
The prices are very reasonable, and overall I will definitely visit again if/when I can.

I have had two classes with Lou and I plan on a third and probably more. Lou is amazingly talented with his bonsai and a really great teacher for people just starting. His knowledge of bonsai is unlimited and it’s such a wonderful way to spend a few hours. His assistant, Cheryl is a riot and attentive to each student. I can’t say enough about this experience. It was also so exciting to receive our bonsai’s in Maine. They arrived in perfect condition. Thank you Lou!

Was helping a friend look for a Christmas present (Bonsai Tree) she had been wanting to get for her husband. Found this listing online and preceded to contact them for questions i had as far as prices/Shipping. i live 1.5 hours away and when asked about shipping the guy scoffs and says "you see..my time is worth 90$ an hour so, if you're buying 5000$ worth of Bonsai Trees sure i guess i can haul them up there and drop them off to you" he came off as irritated and was rude the entire conversation. i got an idea? why don't we work on our people skills and learn some common decency BUYER BEWARE customer service here is terrible.

I'm a new comer in the bonsai world, having recieved my first plant (japanese juniper) about 4 months ago. I'm really getting into it so it goes without saying that i need to acquire the proper tools for working with my plants. So i came across Lotus Bonsai's website and it looked so awesome with their workshop classes and gathering expeditions that they offer, not to mention THE TOOLS! Yay!! I live just outside of Auburn so the commute to their nursery is a hop and a skip away. Seems like the perfect thing for me right now. Since they make a notation on every page on the website to call and make a reservation before showing up, i called. Then i had a most UNFRIENDLY conversation on the phone with some guy who seemed like he wanted nothing more than to end our conversarion before it had even started. He actually sounded a bit irritated that he even answered the phone. I told him I'm a new enthusiast and looking to buy some good tools to help get me started. It sounded as if he couldn't care less with his short one syllable answers that honestly gave me zero help. Just about every question i had was answered with one word, usually "yeah" or "no" backed by an almost irritated tone. I had full intentions of making an appointment for doing some workshop classes as well as dropping at least a few hundred dollars to get myself some quality bonsai tools. But this guy made it very apparent that he did not care whatsoever about my business with him and the nursery he was representing. I will never spend one dime of my money with Lotus Bonsai nursery at this point. They've shown me with one phone call just how professional they are with their operations there. Looks like someone else will be getting my money, and ill make sure they at least fake being interested in my business.

My family and I went there not so long ago, and we were searching for a new addition to my bonsai collection, I asked for assistence and they were absolutely very helpful, they really knew which bonsai was right for me.

Scott Chadd and Bolet Salvador are wonderful people who have made the nursery exsperience truely a art form there nursery is beautiful and relaxing and the staff goes out of there way to ensure a great exsperience, i recomend there Bonsai classes which is a definately a fun , way to spend a relaxing day with great people and to learn skills to better your bonsai skills and to creat ur own master piece.
