It's a nice well kept trail adjacent to UC Davis. There are redwood trees planted there many years ago and plants with their name on a placard in front so you know what you're looking at. The "lake" they're building right now hasn't been completed so the creek is dirty and muddy but promises to be clear and full of life soon. It's adjacent to free parking on the weekends which is a plus and within walking distance to a Farmer's Market and restaurants.

As a homeless teen I used to stay at the very end of the trail camping style. Was close enough to the city and far enough of a walk down people didnt wander down the path that far. There was a large open field and a highway. In the field there was a man I saw go in and out of a hatch several times. I went to it and opened it once, couldn'tsee the bottom. It was pitch black with a ladder. I always wondered what was down there, even now I think about it.
