Got trees from another company with tags from this nursery. What poor grafting on avocados and sad root balls. Incompatible citrus grafts with no regard for long term survival as well.

Edit to reply: I’m in Canada and I don’t think you will find a solution to please me at this point. Both avocado trees I got from your nursery had terrible grafts and miserable roots. They both turned black and died and I got one in May and the other in June, laughable having a tree for less than 4 months and they’re completely black and dead. The company I ordered from has already refunded me for my misfortune. It’s so disheartening to put such effort into something that was no good from the start. So now I have to purchase all my trees in person - lesson learned.

Not everything is compatible with poncirus rootstocks, particularly variegated eureka lemon. At least that tree wasn’t as bad as your avocados.

Added graft photos from when they showed up on my doorstep -discoloured, soft in spots, flared and cracking cleft grafts, unequal diameters from chosen scion.

Sad, gardening is supposed to be fun and a stress reliever. These 2 trees actually kept me up at night. So thanks a lot.

Awesome trees! Top quality trees and wide variety at competitive prices. The staff is very helpful and informed. I couldn’t ask for a better experience. I’ve purchased multiple trees from FWG and all are still in perfect condition. The California Honey mandarins have ripe fruit after only 1 year and they live up to their name! The Tahitian pomelo is growing beautifully as are the latest 2 purchases- an Oroblanco grapefruit and an Assads Citron. These 2 were growing before shipping and have not missed a beat… still growing strong! Thanks again!

I bought a few fruit trees from them in the past years and they are all doing great and producing fruit! I do a lot of research before I order and I also have ordered from various places before but Four Winds have the best quality, the trees always arrive with very strong roots and much bigger size them other places offers for the exact same price.

I've ordered many trees/plants from them. I don't think they harden off their plants before shipping. They always look great when they arrive and then slowly decline. I'd say about 15-25% die and the one time I asked about a refund I was denied. The dormant rootstocks have all survived but those are actually from Dave Wilson's nursery, they are just a reseller. I feel like I take pretty good care of my plants

I have purchased more than 6 fruit trees from Four Winds Grower and they all arrived happy and healthy. Some of them have been planted for more and 6 months and are still thriving. I already harvested kumquats and calamansi within 6 months!

2 days ago I had ordered more fruit trees and had a request with customer service, they responded to me within an hour and Kat (awesome rep!!) stayed late on a Friday to make sure it was resolved before the weekend.

Love the products and the customer service. Highly recommend to anyone looking for an online nursery!

Edit: Received a refund from them after letting them know about the girdling roots.
----------

Purchased this clementine tree from Four winds growers a while back. I've noticed it was looking a little sickening right off the bat. I contacted Four winds growers and they told me it was due to "too much water, or lack of water".

After over a year of zero growth and improvement, I decided do some "digging" and that is when I noticed the tree was choking due to the girdling roots. I remove circling root and that 1root above the ground that was starting to encircle the tree.

I overpaid for this tree expecting it to be better than what was currently available locally. I then purchased replacement from Home Depot a year ago for half the cost and it's thriving.

I just received my seedless Normand Kumquat and the plant looks so good! It arrived really fast and was very carefully packaged. This variety was out of stock for a while, but I was notified when it as back in stock and was able to purchase without a glitch, just pleasant experience all over.

They have the best varieties of citrus you can buy in California. Every tree is carefully packed and shipped to you. I have bought Tahoe Gold, Yosemite Gold, Shasta Gold, Supernova, Tango, and others. None have ever failed me and are all thriving. Highly recommend for anyone looking for elite quality citrus trees.
