Used Massey for a few years. The lawn guy was fantastic! But the irrigation manager and even the general manager ghosted me for the last two weeks and failed to show up to help solve my irrigation problem. My yard has now turned to straw. I fired them today. Would not recommend them unless you want your yard to look like this.

Update: Massey's failure to keep their appointments with me resulted in the death of my lawn. It's gone. Once what was the pride of the neighborhood is now the biggest eye sore. I'm embarrassed. Considering putting a sign in my yard "Massey did this!"

Repeating the same reality of with other comments.

Placed many phone calls that were never returned, last-minute cancelations after reserving time, placed on hold for 20+ minutes when trying to get them to reschedule their missed appointments. It took over 1.5 months for them to still not send out an irrigation technician after they took payment. Still waiting upon my refund.

The General Manager for the St. Petersburg office, Joe Albino, is rude, argumentative and condescending. When I tried to cancel after their one visit, he required a 30-day notice email rather than waive it considering they dropped the ball multiple times as a new client. Do yourself a favor and call another company instead.

If I could give a zero rating I would. I put in a whole new front lawn and all new bushes last spring. I hired Massey Landscape Monthly Maintenace spraying service and their quarterly Irrigation Services. It is now August and all my newly planted bushes are dead and my grass, which was beautiful until they started spraying it, now looks awful. I canceled both programs. Dealing with them was a nightmare I would not wish on anyone. Placed many phone calls that were never returned. It took over three weeks for them to send out an irrigation technician after they had already taken my money. Even though technician had 5 more stops. He took the time to make sure I knew what different types of grass mix I have in my yard. What he is doing to treat the lawn and the steps that I can take if I desire to. Very informative and patient. It was very ? hot that day.

Lawn service is abhorrent, customer service is even worse.

We’ve been a Massey customer for about 9 months. Over the last 3-4 months they have let the weeds in our yard get completely out of control and one of our trees is sick. I called them out to take a look and was told we would receive weekly service to banish weeds and get the tree healthy (Melissa was the tech). They came once in that month - the weeds are still out of control, the tree died and we have dead spots in the sod. I see from the yard tags Massey has been out servicing our neighbors yards in that time but did not come to us.

I’ve been calling for 3 days to cancel our service and Massey continues to pass us off stating Melissa will call back to cancel service. I’ve called THREE TIMES and they refuse to cancel when we call stating we must talk to Melissa first. Finally after threatening to report the charges as fraudulent they returned the call. A waist of time, money and stress.

Their various services are performed well and they seem to use the better materials. My big issue is with scheduling and courtesy. The technicians never, ever show up on time, if they show up at all, and are usually about two hours late. They generally don’t call or apologize. Also, they only know what they’re supposed to do about half of the time. There’s a serious disconnect between the field technicians and their office. There’s also a need for training in basic etiquette and social skills for some.

Donterio is the man! Turned my lawn around so quickly. He is like a grass whisperer. He gets down on the ground and inspects the grass where there may be a trouble spot to determine exactly what is happening and how to correct it. It then treats my lawn for what is needed rather than treat it like every other lawn.

And I have to add that he is a very friendly worker and will patiently answer any questions/concerns I may have.

Wish I would have found him sooner.

Our lawn technician Chris has been servicing our lawn for several years now. Chris is always proactive to control things before they get out of hand such as weeds fungus or insects. In doing so it keeps our grass looking deep green and luscious. We greatly appreciate his friendliness and his professionalism. We highly recommend Massey for all your needs.
