Interesting place. We were hoping to get some information on sod and possibly landscape design. We were told by someone in the garden building that they don't have anybody from the landscape department on the weekends and that getting a design is very expensive. (Her words) We were told no one would be able to give us any advice on what we could plant where but we could come back during the week when they have their festival and bring some pictures, then maybe we could get some advice.
They have a huge operation. It spans many, many many acres. Lots of old growth trees are visible towards the back of the property. They didn't have a lot on hand but what they had looked very healthy. We didn't counter one person out on the lot named Brian who was very helpful and had a great personality. We circled back to try and find him but he was with someone else. We would definitely go talk to him again.
Overall, I wish they had more information for people looking to redo their yards, even if it was a flyer or a handout. That said, it was worth the trip. It's a cool nursery. The greenhouse is kind of post-apocalyptic. Fun day!...

Absolutely wonderful inventory and customer service. Such meticulously taken care of inventory and organized. We are purchasing all of our new home landscaping from them and can’t wait to do our back yard now. Absolutely amazing customer service and just an overall amazing experience!!

Hazeline is the most beautiful nursery! If you live in the area and have never been, you must see! The area is huge with a plethora of plants and trees. The employees are the nicest people and so great to work with!

Bought a ligustrum shrub from them. Had their recommended landscaper plant it for me in October 2023. Called them March 18th, 2024 to get advice regarding a leaf spot issue developing on the shrub, how to treat it as leaves were dropping quickly. I kept getting told they’ll get back to me with a treatment to minimize/treat the leaf spot. I have called 4 times, sent them an email with photos and still no answers. They are just not responding to this expensive plant I am trying to save. Today is March 26th… still no response. This cannot be a difficult problem for them to solve.

We called ahead to see if they had the tree we wanted.
An employee went out and checked just to make sure. It was a long trek out there but within minutes she confirmed they had one.
When we arrived, she walked us out there and we bought it.
They even helped us load it into our truck.
VERY friendly service!
We will be back.

Waiting to see if they put my fence back up and put sod in that are there. There is sod in most other spots. They haven’t rolled the sod to make it smooth or watered anything. Will submit a higher rating if and when they decide to do it right. This shouldn’t have taken a week so far and someone should have started watering by hand last week.

They have a long way to go and need much improvement in project management, timeline and scheduling, quality of workmanship, staff responsiveness, customer service and overall job satisfaction. Not one staff member was enjoyable to work with and were arguing with me if I gave any input or perspective. They showed up unannounced and unprepared. We spent a large amount on landscaping but plants died, the final project wasn’t finished or nice and I had to contact the manager because no one would call me back.

We contacted Hazeltine to make an appointment to meet with a landscape architect in late September, 2022. Gave them a deposit of $500.00 in order to even schedule an appointment with a LA. Finally managed to schedule an appointment for November 10th. We met to discuss our project. Told we’d receive a plan for review in the next 2 (possibly up to 3) weeks. No reply at all. I called in December 10, left a couple of messages. Finally received a call back but was told by the LA he would not be available until after January 6th. I asked if we could set an appointment. We did. I again had to call to confirm our appointment. Call was returned to confirm, then 20 minutes later received a call saying he’d have to push our 10:00 to 11:00 or a bit after. (We had scheduled another appointment after our long scheduled meeting for 10:00. It created a huge inconvenience.). We went to the garden center to review a tentative proposal. We agreed to proposal. Asked how quickly we could move forward with the project. Told we’d be contacted later that week or by the following week to sign the contract. No contract, no follow up. Again I reached. Finally this past Friday afternoon I received a message that contract was sent for approval. Guess approval was needed by someone other than clients. Again we wait. To date we have waited 4 full months and still not even a contract. At this point, we are very concerned as to the reliability of Hazeltine at all. We were pleased with the architect, but this lack of responsiveness in a timely fashion has left us very concerned for the future of our project completion in any reasonable and reliable manner. IF and WHEN we are able to move forward we hope to be able to follow up with a more positive review.
