It was unclear if the shop was open or closed. I read on facebook that they were trying to drum up more business in the winter months so I figured I would go in and check them out and maybe get a plant. We arrived to find the gate half open. The sign on the door was cardboard and said closed. But the hours of operation on the sign at the gate said open. I called. Nobody picked up but they assured me they were open via voicemail. This was 3 hours after opening so it wasn’t like it was an early morning forget. We saw someone walk in so we decided to check it out, inside was an odd apothecary that had like an odd gate but open on the other side of a center table? The entrance to the plant section said welcome. Couldn’t find anyone to talk to and the person we followed in was for a different business upstairs? All in all an odd place. Pretty unhelpful. Might be a better model to clarify which businesses in the building are open or closed. Or at least a note saying something happened and you aren’t open today or out to lunch.

Incredible plant store! Exactly what you expect when you think “mountain town” plant store. The owner is very nice and has fair prices. The selection was decent for the space. The highlight was definitely how beautiful the natural light is in the space!

We went to Alpine Gardens a year ago not knowing what plants to choose for a new landscape area in front of our home. They helped us choose all of the plants. A year later and everything looks fantastic! Really appreciate the personalized support we received.

Disappointing experience here. Heard good things. Asked 2 staff questíons and was treated like I was idiot (“you are at 9000 feet”), of which was well aware and why had asked questions. I’m in a knee brace after surgery, limping around, only one hand free to pull cart; and 2 young staff just watched me, with no offer to assist pulling cart on the uneven gravel to where check out. Realize very difficult finding good employees nowadays, but if this is how treat all customers, will be even harder when we all go elsewhere for garden shopping.

Nice place. Houseplants inside the building, perennials and annuals outside. View of the Blue River from the back. Plants happened to be on sale at end of July so I bought some to take home to Chicago as my Colorado trip “souvenir”: the gift that keeps on giving! I also bought a few small houseplants that I thought would transport well in a packed car.

Their perennial section represented an Alpine garden well, I thought. It’s also nice to tour the grounds to see the variety of plants at maturity that you can likely purchase from them.

Their seed selection was slim but I found a few packets I liked.

Nice employee answered all our questions and talked with customers as she tended to plants indoors and out.

Such a thoughtfully curated space with beautiful and unique plants. I love the variety of indoor and outdoor plants. The plants are the most beautiful in the county. Shop local!

Who would of thought a garden center would be the perfect place for a wedding?! I got married September of this year and two weeks before my wedding did we lose our reception venue. After calling everywhere and being told they were booked, I called and worked with Brittany who within days had our reception planned, decorated, and coordinated so all we had to do was show up after getting married, and enjoy our celebration. Not only is everyone working there super sweet and dedicated, they are a low waste facility who provided dinnerware so no plastic was used, which fit our event beautifully. If you're looking for a unique venue, I would highly recommend.

Cute shop and the only place in Summit that carries healthy and good soil for your indoor plants! Will definitely be back
