We had some repair/redesign work done on the back yard fence. The guys came out and looked at what we needed and gave us a bid, it was very near what we had figured what it should cost. Then they showed up. Nope just one guy and a lot of equipment. I figured ok get it all started and additional crew for later. Boy was I wrong Chance did it all, installed the new posts, setup and attached the fence, set the new gate figured all the ground requirements and by 5 that after noon it was all done. The fence repair/expanding room etc was all done and looks great. Color me VERY impressed, this company know how to get stuff done and done right. Thanks very much.

Total Disaster ! We used Chance Weyer because he was local to Elizabeth and actually a close neighbor. What a mistake! He are the details of our experience with country roots.
We wanted low maintenance zero scaping done. My wife had him give us a quote and explained to him that our budget was $10k. He said he could do a zero scape job on our budget and he sent us his contract. He wanted half down and the remaining half on COMPLETION. We wrote a check for half. The work was to start around mid march and would take a week.
Mid march came and the weather did not cooperate. So Chance pushed out job 2 weeks which was fine. He showed up one day to prep the front area with his skid steer. He made a muddy mess of everything all over a newly paved driveway. He promised he would clean it when the job was completed. He never did.
The driveway and mud stayed this way for 2 weeks as Chance "said" he was waiting on the rock to be delivered. Chance would say he was going to show up Monday morning and would roll in about 130pm and work until maybe 330pm. Never in the 2 weeks at our job did he work a straight 8 hours. He gave excuses such as , he had other jobs going on, his goat died, he was closing on a house, his wife couldn't pick up the kids etc etc .
He then promised he would be there the following week on Monday morning and would work all day. He showed up about 11am and again left at 3pm. Needless to say we were getting frustrated at this point and he hadn't even started the back yard. My wife and I both questioned the amount of rock delivered and Chance said he did not have a load ticket and did not know if it was enough to cover the areas. We explained to him that we did NOT want to see any weed block fabric.
Finally he started on the back yard. We get a text telling us to come outside by his truck..He had ran over our well head with his skid steer. Cutting the wires to the pump and ripping off the well cap. I immediately called our well guy who came out within 2 hours. He fixed the wires and the cap while Chance watched. He gave Chance the bill and Chance wrote the well guy a company check. Two days later my well guy called and asked for Chance's contact info because his check had bounced.
Now the back yard was almost done, Chance then asks for the remaining half of payment. He said he would be back in 3 days to complete the job. We explained to Chance that his contract says the balance is due on COMPLETION. He says needs the money. My wife felt bad so we wrote him a check for the balance due and asked him to not cash the check until the next day because we needed to transfer money. He said " of course" Needless to say the next morning we found he had deposited the check immediately!
3 days later he shows up to finish the job. We ask him why the rocks are so thin and point out where we can see the weed blocker fabric. He smooths it out a little . We mentioned that the mulch in the back yard also looks thin and might blow away? He assured us it would look good and not be a issue. Chance left and we could already see the weed blocker fabric under the mulch and rocks. We wanted maintenance free zero scape. Below are pictures of what we have. Mulch that blows all over the rocks every time the wind blows. We have to rake it back into the area 2-3 times per week. The rocks that you see are ONE rock thick. Meaning if you move one rock you will see fabric. We contacted Chance and gave him a opportunity to do something to make it right. He told us "he has 3 kids, a ranch and a business and fixing this was not a priority for him" Landscape yards say the mulch needs to be at least 3" thick. We have barely 1" at best. We then asked Chance to provide receipts for the materials he bought for our project. To this day we have yet to receive them. He also said " that is not a priority"
This is a classic example of a business that will take your deposit and spend it other places. Then skimp on materials because they have no money left to do your job! Basically once he gets your money , your job is not a priority ! Not Happy !
